Vintage Carved Garuda Eagle Wall Decor Mask

Garuda had a huge wingspan, which was said to block out the sun, and needed as the incarnation of Vishnu, God of Preservation, for traveling between Heaven and Earth. This famous deity has played a major role in both Hindu and Buddhist cosmology for centuries. This is a vintage mask in very good condition for its age, 50 plus years old. It is painted with deep red, black, green and gold leaf, and age has distressed the color a bit, adding to its mystical feel. A magnificent mask for your collection.
