Primitive Tribal Man & Eagle Carving
Carved from dense dark ironwood by Sumbanese artists, this primitive sculpture is a depiction of a tribal member with a carved eagle surrounding him. From the island of Sumba, it is a decorative figure from a culture with a traditional religion which includes both ancestral, and deity worship. This carving is not that old yet has a very slight crack in the wood.
