Night of Dance

NIGHT of INDONESIAN DANCE
– From a rich history of Inclusion

Saturday, Nov. 8 @ 6 - 8 PM

Come celebrate inclusion through the lens of gender fluidity by honoring ancient traditions that challenge current rigid ideals. Indonesia has a rich history of embracing diverse gender identities in art and daily life, despite colonial and modern pressures that increased discrimination. Modero Dance Company brings these traditions to life, presenting dances from across the islands that highlight how art can create space for diverse expressions of self, reflecting a more seamless expression of gender in contrast to our Western norms. This special evening reflects our commitment to diversity, understanding, and celebrating every voice.
