Snake Hatching from Taqua Nut Egg

Own a fascinating trompe-l-oeil: a snake emerging after its birth, perhaps imagining that it is utterly separate from its source of origin. Yet, in fact both are carved from a single tagua nut -- and, as such, perhaps a fitting gift for a parent or child. The byproducts of Palm trees come in many forms, one being the “tagua" nuts – each roughly 2" long – so closely resemble the color of an elephant’s tusk, they have been used as a renewable replacement for ivory carving worldwide.
